Meyers trailers look really nice. I'd like to get one. I'd also consider pulling a camper like a Roll-A-Home, Time Out or Bunkhouse.

On the single wheel trailers the box is in front of the wheel instead of over it like a 2 wheel trailer so more of the weight is supported by the back of the bike. Second concern was that since the trailer leans with the bike, if you happen to stop with the bike leaning or if you start to drop the bike you are fighting the weight of the bike and trailer, not just the bike which is heavy enough on its own.
great points there

If we are going to be staying in motels the entire trip then we do just pack the bike and the trailer stay's home. As far as safety, you just have to remember you have the extra weight behind you and allow yourself an extra space cushion to stop. My bike actually handles better with the trailer loaded and the saddle bags and tour back near empty then when I have both saddle bags, tour pack, and luggage rack loaded up. My sig pic was us pulling the trailer on "The Tail of the dragon". If your that worried about safety why are you even on a bike? When you ride do you wear a leather jacket, pants, and gloves with armor, a full face helmet, and steel toed leather boots? I doubt it. There's no reason to slam those of us that choose to tow a trailer. If you want to always stay in a plush hotel with a pillow top bed, room service, and laundry all the time go ahead. But some of us want to enjoy the great outdoors. Isn't that why most of us ride instead of driving a cage? It's a free country, ride, drive, and stay where you choose.
i have often considered getting a trailer, but the wife and i do fine with out it. we once took a 1100 honda shadow from WA to Canada to TJ Mexico along the PCH then up to 4 corners and up 550 to yellow stone, crossed back into Canada before going back home in WA. 2 week trip.

we packed an air mattress, tent, two sleeping bags, cook stove, frying pan and 4 changes of clothes each. only staid in a hotel three nights on the trip. mostly showered in at truck stops or campgrounds. mostly camped alongside some back road where i could pull the bike out of sight.

it was a hard trip, but it was a blast at the same time. hell on the bike being loaded that heavy and a bitch to pack. would it have been easyer with a trailer?? hell yes, and that is why i keep thinking about getting one.

i now have moved from a honda to a heritage to an ultra, sometimes i still wish i had a bit more room... still thinking about a trailer.

I pull a N-LINE and have had no problems with it. If you watch the video that was posted earlier you can see how it tracks and the way the Progressive shock keeps it from bouncing. I ride with 10 or so guys that have them and none of us have had any handling problems. You can't pack the kitchen sink but can get enough in for extended trips i.e. 2 plus weeks.
It is a MOTORCYCLE trailer, not a gooseneck....

After seeing what happened to a fellow rider pulling a trailer, I will never ever hook one of those things to the back of my bike.

You've posted this same response twice ( in two different threads ) and haven't given any specifics ... What's up with that? I've read/heard/witnessed many scooter accidents/mishaps and have NEVER seen scooter with a trailer involved.

I'm not sure which is better, but from a cost per amount of storage standpoint, a two wheel trailer seems to be a better value. Another vote for Bushtec. I picked up a used Turbo-II and I'm very happy with it. The nice thing about Bushtec's is that they haven't changed very much over the years. A used one in good shape looks like a current model.

If you enjoy camping and going to various motorcycle rallies, festivals, concerts, etc, really any multi day camping event, a popup trailer is another option. I recently picked up an Aspen Sentry popup camper. You know it's behind you when traveling and you need to allow more room for braking, but it is sure nice to sleep in at the end of a day while in a campground!

Does seeing the accidents that happen to riders without trailers keep you from riding?

I like the simple 4'x4' utility trailer. I haul all kinds of stuff on it. If I want it watertight I bolt a car top carrier to it.
