Ultra is the way to go.I have never used the CB or intercom on mine, but the extra lights on the pac are worth their weight in gold! Yes, you can add them to a classic... but it's a PITA. The lowers will be REAL nice in your neck of the woods, where you have colder temps for longer periods. The extra boom boom in the audio department is a good feature as well. If you add up all the standard equipment on the upgrade from the Classic to the Ultra, you will see that it's better (cheaper) to go the Ultra route.

Same dilemma about 2 years ago -- coming off a Heritage. Tempted to go with the Classic and save some $$$, but took the plunge w/ the Ultra. I like the options I now have to use / not use the "extras." Road trips are much more pleasant, and despite my thinking I would just be tooling around town, too, I've found that my rides keep getting longer and longer -- and I've already got the bike that can handle it all...

Better to have and not need, than want and not have....

I didn't want the lowers, or the CB, and I liked the cleaner tourpak on the classic. Rear speakers would've been cool though. If you ride in cold weather, you might like the lowers.
Agree, except don't spoil the lines by adding lowers. Overpants or chaps are much "cooler" and are easier to remove. Two speakers provide plenty of sound; you can always upgrade them in the unlikely event you feel you need more. Add the tourpak spoiler for more lights in the back.

I bought the Classic. The money wasn't an issue but I just had NO use for the CB, intercom, and lowers and would probably have ended up taking thatgear off.

I thing the Ultra is the only way to go but that's just my 2c. To me, just the cruise is worth the difference. Here again, my 2c. I've really never known anyone to come out ahead $$ wise in trying to make and Ultra out of a Classic.

Eventually you'll want the extras that the Classic doesn't have so you might as wellpull the trigger on theUltra ClassicIMHO.

I went with the Classic to save money. Don't need the intercom,CB, or rear speakers. Installed the cruise control myself, a lot cheaper than the purchase of the Ultra. Looking at installing the rear spoiler for additional lights.

I would suggest the Ultra over the Classic. You get more options from the Ultra for not that much more than the Classic. Even if the extra features are NEVER used....what about when you decide to trade/sell the bike. People for the most part....like the extra stuff.

Rear speakers, Cruise-Control, and the extra lighting in the rear is what I really like. I don't care for the CB and have no use for it....but it is there if I ever decide to use it. The lowers are nice in the winter months....and for some reason, I tend to get better mpg with them installed. And the bike does not seem to wallow like it does without the lowers.

I have both....a Classic and the Ultra. Which do you think I ride more often?
