What is her Bike?
FYI the B+ connector would only take care of the hot side you still need to find a ground side connection.

Because it draws more amperage than those wires are rated for.

I had my Gerbing jacket liner/gloves connected to the Battery Tender plug for many years - even way back when the Gerbing gear also had the 2 pin connector. Never had a problem.

I think that SAE connector is fine, but I think heated gear should be fused. I know mine is. Put a fuse in that positive wire and you'll still be able to use it for the tender.

The chassis ground studs will be in close proximity to the connector. All pre-2015 touring models have the B+ connector(single position grey connector roughly 1/2"X1/2"X 1 1/2",located in the frame cavity forward of the battery compartment). Its a short wire connected direct to the positive post so it is the same as connecting direct to the positive battery post, and the wire is plenty heavy enough to handle the load. The connector typically has the mating half plugged into it, so all you will need is the crimp terminal from the parts counter, probably less than $1.

On my 2014 TG I have both connectors coming out from under the seat on the left side.
I added the Gerbing coax plug when I bought the new heated liner with the new plug.

Default Fuse Blocks

If you have room for this, I think it is a good idea.
