Now that is a sporty that I would be proud of. One of the nicest I have seen. You will love the ride on a rk. Will blow any thoughts about those sport bikes out of your head, except of course the get up those things have. The rk is a lot more comfortable and a sport bike is likely more dangerous to own. That is why insurance on them is so high. You can make your king fast enough and be comfy at the same time. Besides, where you are, you have enough danger to worry about. Be safe and watch out for idiots. Thanks for all that you and your buddies do for us. Get home before Jody does...j/k, get home safe and let your buddies know they and you are in our minds.

Thanks for the help guys, newhog I see you have the big bore kit, my bike has the big bore kit and the screaming eagle stage one with stock cams. ( I really have no Idea what a sreaming eagle stage one consists of) I have never rode a ultra before, how much difference did the big bore kit make from stock, also the PC III, did that makea big difference as well, thanks for indulging the newby questions. I am coming off sportbikes, and dont know much about harleys other than a sportster I cusomized a couple years ago.
Scott,

First of all let me say thank you for being there and making a difference. I was on the Hearts to Heros Ride today and hope I got to see you on the big screen? It was a great but emoitonal day to participate with you guys via Satilite. We all sleep under the very comfort that you provide and we do realize it.

It sounds like our bikes are near identical. I also just have stock cams except they are gear drive, but still factory. The 95" does make a huge difference. My little group that I ride with includes near identical bikes and some that are Road kings (without tour pack or lower fairings= lighter) mine just walks off and flat out---out pulls them. So I'm pleased with the 95".

The PCIII...well, it sucks! Don't get me wrong they have their place, but if you change anything (I do allot) you have to re-dyno, if you go way up in elevation or go somewhere with extreme weather changes, it runs different as it is tuned around the environment it is in at the time it's getting tuned. It's just not for me anymore. We ride about 450 miles in a daymost of the time, never less than 250, since I live in AZ, it is common to experience huge environmental changesas mentioned above all in the same day or ride event. We go from near sea level to 7,000 feet, from +100 deg’s to snowing, from dry to rain. And with mine (PCIII) as with some other friends with the same build our bikes have a miss at certain RPM's, just like it skips a heartbeat every so often. It's not horrible and you get used to it, no performance loss or anything, just annoying as all get out. I've ordered and am switching to the ThunderMax auto tune which corrects it self, everyone here raves about them and swears it increase's performance all the way around. Thisdoes not meanPC isnot any good and you do not need to worry about changing or anything. It's just not for me anymore. And, it's a new toy (the T-Max) to play with

More to your question; the PCIII is there to make the bike run correctly after doing upgrades that are different than factory, it works with the original ECM to lean or richen fuel, alter timing, etc. You do need it or some version of this product when you change equipment on fuel injected bikes. It would be like changing jets on carbed bikes. There are many versions on the market and everyone has there own preference.

The Screaming Eagle stage one I’m supposed to have as well. And like you, as much as I’ve learned about this stuff I still don’t understand what that is or does. I know it’s supposed to make the bike run better kind of like a horsepower upgrade without any hardware.

Also like you, I came off sport bikes and even though I like the speed and the performance; I can’t imagine being on anything other than an Ultra or bagger. I wished I would have switched years ago, but hind site is always 20/20. You start out with every possible option: stereo radio, intercom, cb, cruise, full instrumentation, more chrome and on and on. And for me and others that don’t want to look that mature (BTW, welcome to the Geezer Glide Club) or like’s change, you can strip stuff off like the tour-pack, etc to give you a different look as often as you want.

The Ultra in my mind is the best of all worlds. And if you have more money than sense, or just no sense, you can soup the baby up to whatever limit y

Scott... looks like you have good taste on what you do/will do to your bikes. Thanks for being there... (Use your riding experience over there... stay alert, be AWARE of your surroundings, anticipate all possible dangers...)
