Default compensator question

Bought a used 2011 street glide i read that HD started to put in SE compensator from factory is that correct and what year did they start doing that.Thanks

I think in 11 they put in the se comps. only in the 103 models...I could be wrong though...

My Wifes 2011is a 96 and it came with a SE compensator from new.

96 and 103 in 2011 got upgraded comp assembly 83935-09 as stock. I think 12 got -09A .
Then 14s upgraded again.

With the qualification that if you are replacing the stock comp, you also need a new style rotor to go with the new comp. The old style with the welded in coil spring is not compatible with the belleville springs. To the OP, go to a source with exploded parts diagrams for YOUR bike (http://www.shopronniesharleydavidson...REAR|~WHEEL\FR) is popular, and see if the diagram shows the belleville springs. They are very large, curved "washers" between the compensator and rotor and ONLY are used with the SE style comp so they a dead giveaway.
