anyone have any ideas how to sell her on the benefits of a new exhaust system?
Once the weather warms up, take her for a ride through traffic, stop and go, redlights, etc. Then explain to her how you can get rid of the heat on the right side by getting rid of the crossover pipe.
I made the exhaust change and didn't say anything to my wife. She noticed the difference on the first ride and she was happy about it.
You can always ask for the pipes as a birthday/christmas/father's day present....that's what my old man did.......of course he didn't follow my thinking of buying the ones you really want to begin with and we ending up buing slip-ons first, then went to the full set up less than three months later.
Second, that's a "fine" looking ride! I've not seen very many HD's in white through the years although I do seem to be running into more of them lately. The bike looks very classy in that color!
One word of advice I have is DON"T EVER LET HER SIT ON YOUR BIKE AND START IT. I did, and now we are looking for a bike for her. I like her in the back. She makes a comfy backrest. Some times, and I know this is dumb, I let her reach up and turn the throttle while we are riding. She loves it.Although I wouldn't recommend it, I think it is cool. Any interst I can get her to have in the bike means more stuff I can buy for my ride.
I'd love to get my bride to ride on the back more often, but ever since I created a monster by suggesting she get her own bike, its been pretty much solo riding for me. I miss the 'hundred mile hugs,' but I must admit that she looks real good cruising along next to me on her V-Rod.
i have the most amazing wife. she was all for the bike, probably more excited than me.NOT. but close. if i were to add up all the accessories on the bike on who paid for them. i really think she would win. she has bought more chrome for the bike than i have. and you know what she enjoys it. she cant wait to get on it and go. well now guess what? yup you guessed it, she wants her own now. but the issue i have is she deals with all the money and if i get her one she will put all the new chrome on hers and mine will be old news. oh well she deserves it though, i have the most amazing wife.
