Hi, I'm out here in Arizona and I am fortunate enough to be able to still be riding this time of year. Contrary to popular belief it does get cold here in Arizona, especially at night. I recently purchased some chaps and a heated vest to help with the cold and they work great.
My only issue now is my fingers are freezing! I have a cheap $20 pair of Bilt gloves that are supposed to be for cold weather. They don't fair well against the wind.
Can anyone suggest some cold weather gloves? I'm trying to avoid having to drop $150 on heated gloves. I ride a RK with 16" apes so my hands are directly in the wind. I also want to avoid the bulky hand deflectors mounted to the bars.
There are some existing threads you can check. It seems that the classic well known names are still making the better products.
when comparing, remember that "watts" is not a measurement of heat or how the heat is distributed.
watts is more akin to how much power from the battery is consumed by the device
reminds me of when i was young in Canada...I'd walk in and order 2 coffees- 1 to warm each hand!

My new Gerbings (third pair so far since '98,) are in the shop for warranty work. (Heated the palms, and let the fingers freeze.) The other 2 pair were excellent, if bulky. The new gloves feel like "normal" weight for winter gloves (less bulky than the first two pair were.) Hopefully these new improved models will do the job too. I commute year round at any temp above 25 degrees so they've gotta' work right! $169 and the adjustable controller was $69.
+1 on the Windshielder Gauntlets. If I need more, I have a pair of Venture heated liners that fit nicely under all of my gloves. They are very thin and will usually cause my hands to sweat with the Windshielders, so I just use them and my regular gloves.
Bought a pair of Columbia Ski Gloves at Bass Pro Shop in Phoenix last year during their Christmas sale. Gauntlet style, medium bulk, Thinsulate lined with their silver/heat-reflective lining inside. Lightweight, slightly curved palm and very warm.
regrads,

Reason: clarity
Below 40 I wear a pair of textile mittens and chemical heat pack inserts. Both bought at academy and the heat packs are cheap. Mittens make a huge difference and allows the heat pack to float around.
