Thanks for all the good wishes and prayers. Wife already has an atty name and number and will call tomorrow. The only thing is that we both have the same insurance company. Dont know if that is a problem or what. Yes, she was cited for failure to yield.
Love to get a new bike out of it tho....Then I can make all the mods that I was plannig on their dime, or at lease some of it.

Jim, I feel your pain and I'm happy you can still ride another day. I had mine last April, just about the same scenario as you only I was in the hospital for almost a month with a shattered pelvis. The good news isI'm riding again although Iwill say with much more caution. My finger is getting sore from pressing the air horn button! lol!The funny thing is my SG also had around 1900 miles on it at the time of the accident. The bike sustained $9000 worth of damage but it is now like new again.
Hope you mend quick, good luck,
Frank
Glad to hear that you're okay. Probably landing on the hood of the car was better than the asphalt. Its always scarry to hear these stories, but thanks for posting it. I'm going out riding today, and thanks to you, I'll be EXTRA careful.
count your blessings...hopefully no permanent physical damage to you..although you will remember the broken ribs when they ache for several years, as for the bike unfortunately it will most likely have frame damage...i hope HER insurance carrier is pro-active and ready to go forward for a new bike and hospital bills...

In Alabama it would be. You can't buy a beer in Alabama without signing your rights to an attorney away in an arbitration agreement. I have State Farm, and it clearly states that if both parties have the same company, then the case will be settled by an arbitration board. It sucks, but what can you do?
Glad to hear that you weren't hurt seriously enough to rip her a new A-hole and that is a good sign. Secondly I hope that there were witnesses to her **** stupidity[:@]
Other food for thought: Did she have her cell phone stuck in her ear when she made her turn?
Check the PD report make sure she is 100% at fault - here in Ca the 100% can be split up between drivers - meaning she could be on the hook for 80% and maybe you for the remaining 20% {NOT saying you are but just making a point here - I am on your side} If the report makes here 100% - then go for ALL you can - if she is "Under" insured - your uninsured should take car of the rest... Google or talk to a legal friend on the Tort Laws http://cecp.air.org/interact/authoronline/february99/2.htm
These cover different pain and suffering - My wife was involved in a MVA years ago - Tort laws help her alot in payment of time loss in many areas...Check them out... At least she owes you a New bike of your Choice.... Good luck on your heal -
Insurance will want to settle fast - DON"T... Document everything medical and unless you are in love with your bike - I wouldn't take it back on a bet - Her insurance Co now ownes it and you deserve a new one - Screw the Bitch - next time maybe she will look a little futher than her bumper before she starts a movement... I have been a Firefighter now for 34 years - the stupid things I see drives do today - surprised there are not more accidents... People do not look - We have to be on the scan ALL the time,
Glad you are going to be OK... enjoy your new bike and continue to be safe...
Glad you're still here with us. Liv'in on LI, I know how cagers can be oblivious to us. The man upstairs must have owed you one. You're do'in something right!
Bikes are always fixable, humans not so much. Be grateful you can still walk. Sounds like you came out okay. I have never jumped up and yelled at the person who cut me off, I would just lay on the ground as I didn't wish to make my injuries any worse and wasn't aware of what they are. If I saw them the first question I asked was if they had insurance. Glad you are not injured too bad...
