Wow! Merry Christmas everyone! I have the factory detachable tour-pack on my 2013 FLHTC and LOVE it! And can not figure out why anyone would not like to have the "choice" to have the extra storage if you desired; OR be sporty. I can put it on or remove and be ready to ride in under 5 minutes. Yes, that includes; removing and re-locating the antenna, the power port in the tour pack, and (this winter mod) rear speakers. Everything plugs in or un-plugs and is hidden in very short order.
I'd love to do this with my Limited as well but I refuse to pay $500 for the HD quick detach kit for this bike. I can find everything separately except for the slotted strut covers. Any idea where you could find those?
Was going to be first thing I added to my new 12 able to do labor my self so would have only had the parts and includeing a seat and STORAGE rack. When adoes up the sporty look was just not worth it. The savings bought a lot of beverage for me and the bike I don't know if this bike is new to you or not but ride 1 month and see how many you stop and first thing you do when you get off is get in the tour pac. Best to you and your decision
how much did it cost you to do? what kind of kit did you use?
With the detachable kit and the harness kit Inwas about $800 all in. Add another $800 for the new Corbin and I'm in for $1600. I'm going to sell the Tourpak and get a razorback or chopped tour pak.
