Default detachable tour pack

what is the best way to go about doing a detachable tour pack installation? I have a 2013 electra glide ultra limited. I use my tour pack a lot but would like to take it off on occasion to make bike alittle more sporty.

IMO if you take off the tour pack you have to change out the seat too. The fat passenger pillion doesn't look good. Got to have a StreetGlide seat to throw on

Did mine today. 2013 Ultra Limited. The actual docking hardware is not to hard to figure out but I have wiring everywhere. The electrical is a PIA. It does look good and the Tourpak comes off and goes back on in 30 seconds.

I had a detachable on my 2005 Classic and the wife had one on her Street Glide. On those bikes it is pretty easy as there is not much electrical to deal with. Going to be a much bigger pain with the Limited, and you will lose radio function unless you come up with an antenna solution. What we found in the end was that the mounts will get loose in time and start to rattle, which drove me crazy. We also found that even when we weren't traveling the tour pac was very handy, so we hardly ever took them off. Cool look, just not worth the hassle.

Regarding the loose and rattling mounting hardware, I replaced the <cough cough> high quality black plastic bushings on mine with some made of aluminum. They work fine. No rattling and I betcha they'll last for many years.

Another temporary fix is to loosen the bolts on the bike and turn the bushings 90 degrees. I did that until my aluminum bushings showed up.
