All I can say is going from the stock bars to the wo578's which are only 2 1/2 higher than stock made a world of difference. Love them

Thanks brotha!!

You're right I don't have data to back my claim. I was being a wise guy.

It's an ape hanger thing. If you have to ask you wouldn't understand.

Thanx orangevette.

I did a bit of Googling and, though I still don't understand very much, it now seems to me that this "cornering leverage" business is a design related influence on a bike's behavior rather than a rider related one. I therefore don't quite see what bars have to do with it. No matter, I'll continue to happily counter steer my way round the curves in abject indifference to the finer points.

I will add one for the comfort crowd. With stock bars I hit my knee on full lock maneuvers. The first time I installed apes I knew it would be the first thing I bought for all future bikes. No more hands falling asleep and control is greatly increased. I don't know how I ever rode with my hands down by my knees all the time.

It was high 50s today so I took the opportunity to ride to Austin to see my daughter. 450 mile round trip. I paid close attention to what would be the perfect hand position for me and decided that if my hands were 2 inches closer to me and an inch higher they would be perfect. My Corbin pushes me back and down by about that amount from stock. What bars would give me that little bit of difference? Basically if I close my fists and rest them on top of the grips the height is perfect, and a couple inches closer would enable me to relax my arms.

Go with 10's and pull them back towards you a couple inches before you tighten them up.

10" LA Choppers Twin Peaks would give you what your looking for. Very ergonomically correct hand and wrist angle too.

2010 Limited with some stuff!!

I added the Yaffe 10" classic apes and am very happy with the results. changed for comfort reasons, but they look good too. the bars put my hands about 2 inches higher and maybe 1-2 inches closer. didn't need new cables, just extended the wires and ran them on the inside. also, no more upper back pain! i highly recommend the upgrade.
