Do it yourself: $200 - $400 for the bars and $30 for wire extensions.

Pay someone: $1,100 - $1,500 I was quoted.

I did mine myself. Used bpd's instruction (member here with a tutorial of pictures). It was frustating at points but not at all difficult if you have some mechanical ability.

I'm a relatively new rider. So far, I'm good with "counter steering" and putting that into practice. What is "cornering leverage" ? How do I get that working for me ?

Thanx

I have 18" apes. I don't drag the floorboards much, but sometimes I do drag my knuckles on the pavement.

not speaking for the poster but "cornering leverage" has to do with the physics and design geometry of the front end of a motorcycle.

I thought apes were the dumbest thing ever when I had my sportbikes.

I must be in the minority. I have stock EG bars and they don't cause me any discomfort at all. I did 5000 miles in two weeks going to Sturgis last year without a thought to my bars. They also look more 'traditional' to me. I'm not a huge fan of them on a batwing, but think they look really good on a Road Glide.

I see you are from Ohio. Congates on the Buckeyes dude!!!

I don't think you have a good data source to believe that everyone runs cut down shields.
