Default You opinion

I have an 05 road king custom, current set up; stage 1, with supertrapp slip ons, my question to the masses is I'm really considering doing a 2-1 exhaust, looking at the Thunderheader system and the rienhart system. Tired of my bike looking like everyone else's so looking to make some changes this is the first of many, because as we all know when you buy a harley you get a starter kit not a complete bike. Is there anyone out there running either of these systems, and what would you're opinion of them be? Further more with changing the head pipe would I then absolutely need a tuner or am I still good to run with the stage 1 generic harley flash? All opinions and input appreciated. Thanks y'all keep the rubber side down.

If those were my two choices Rinehart all the way. I have had several bad experiences with TH. My buddy has the Rinehart 2 into 1 on his stage 4 09 Ultra and that thing sounds killer and makes great power. Plus it looks a lot more refined than the TH.

TH looks like it came out of an elementary school welding class. It does not include heat shields with initial purchase and when you do get them, they are kind of half assed in my opinion.

I found both TH's I had to give great power but stuff kept breaking. One the pipe cracked the other the mounting bracket cracked. They also seem to put out excessive heat if you run them without the heat shields.

I'm sure not a Thunderheader fan but a good 2-1 and tune will help some. Might want to give Dragos a call...

This is what is going on my bike shortly. Already have it just waiting for a bunch more to be completed.

I'm not fond of the thunder header myself.
But a 2 into 1 will help with the power. The Reinhardt would be my choice if these 2 are the only choices.

Consider Patriot Defender. 2 into 1 power with a volume baffle too. And super affordable.

Will never buy anything but a thunderheader. Some seem to have issues with qc but I never have. Doesn't look like all the other 2:1's, imo I like the look. And lastly, can't beat the sound of a thunderheader

All manufactures of 2 into 1 headers make good power, find the one that sounds the
best for you and go for it.

Same complaint I have heard for 15 years now on TH, I see QC hasn't improved. If you go TH bend the 4 tabs in the cone so there is enough back pressure to get some low end.
Ive had TH 2:1, S/T 2:1 on my stage 4 103 and unless you don't give a crap about your ears or anyone around you go with TH. S/T quality is one of the best out there, some say its too quiet with the closed end cap, but it depends how you want to present yourself when riding. When I went from the TH to the S/T my power increased 2-3hp/tq, so for me I went with the S/T. Got more power and don't attract evil looks from LEOs and it screams at WOT, and still can hear the radio at 75.

I'd pass on the TH.. Way too noisy.. Not use a RH 2-1 but really like the Fatcat for that bagger year.. With the quiet baffle..
