Having owned a Dyna and a Softail...I can agree, there is nothing like a Bagger. The Harley touring bikes are more balanced to me and easier to handle.
However, there are a few really good looking Dynas and Softails. They make nice garage furniture.
Helped a friend out last summer and picked up his wife's Fat Boy and rode it 70 miles to their home on interstate, rural, and suburban roads. Never ridden a softail before or any other Harley except for my '04 EG--great looking bike, the Fat Boy, but rides nothing like my bagger. Didn't realize fully what a good choice the bagger was for me until that ride. BAGGERS FOREVER!!!
My new Road Glide shipping date recently got delayed by a month. My Dad felt bad, so he let me borrow his Fatboy (he also has a SG) until my new bike showed up. I've ridden it before, and it's not bad. It's got a 106" kit so it is actually really fun to ride. Sunday was a beautiful day, so I decided I was going to take a ride. I hit the freeway for about 10 miles and quickly remembered how nice baggers are.
I am grateful I have a bike to ride whenever I want, but I also can't wait to give it back.
I have owned a sportster, dyna low rider, heritage softtail....Finally bought a BAGGER, would never go back. Did go on a demo ride a few weeks ago, tried a v-rod for $hits and giggles. Most uncomfortable thing I have ever been on. Could not wait to get back on the big comfy sofa.
Having owned a Soft Tail Heritage, E-GlideClassic and now the Street Glide. My vote is for baggers and the Street Glide in particular, best bike I have ever rode.
