Going Crazy
Went to start my 2012 Limited and there was no response. Heres how it worked. Turned the ignition on, I then turned on the on switch and heard the pump come on. When I hit the start button there was no response. Tried again ... No response. After about 6 tries it cranked up. There was no noise or anything. Any suggestions ?
what you describe could be a number of things:
alarm ( as suggested above)
system relay
starter switch
kill switch
starter relay
wiring
battery/ battery cables
etc etc.
you can sort out for yourself pretty quickly if it is battery/cables or alarm related.
and after that it is methodical testing of the starter primary circuit- if you are a DIY type guy then you can use the resources on the forums to trace this down.
If you need to take it into a shop, the LESS you do, the better for them to find your problem
( don't forget the "oops I had the ignition switch on ACC position"...)

before you start diving in to the complicated stuff, are you still on the original battery in your fob? if so, change that out, making sure that you put it in rightside up....
if it still does it, it could still be the alarm. could be some rf interference. try starting your bike using your security override code (you do know what that is and how to use it right?). you might have to make sure your fob is not near the bike for this part.
if it still does it, then start looking at the more complicated stuff. if you look back through mike's posts, you'll see one where his neighbor was having problems with his bike starting. would not take mike's advice and spent thousands of dollars on repair work. ended up being a $12 battery cable (what mike said to check in the first place...)

Classic symptom of a low battery in the FOB
Not the battery in the bike. The battery in the key FOB is dying.
Your bike did not recognize the FOB right way for some reason.
A low battery is the most likely cause of this
Note: The fuel pump will still come on (even without the FOB present).
But the engine will not crank over when you hit the start button

The fastest way to determine if your problem is a low battery in a Fob or RF interference is to put the key fob in your pocket, sit on the bike, and stand the bike up (off the jiffy stand).
If the turn signals start blinking and the red key on the dash illuminates (alarm is going off) the Fob is not being seen by the bike.
