It must be that different countries have different specs. My, also '07, Ultra was ignition off, walk away and the system arms. Try switching the ignition on when the fob is not present would have the alarm going and immobiliser activated.
Sounds like mine. But I can also turn the key fully counter-clockwise to lock the ignition, and the fork as well -- same position.
The PIA occurs when I want to move the bike in the garage when I don't have the fob and have to run upstairs to get it. I don't have the choice to turn it off and leave it off. Other than that it's adequate. I think for the $$$ there are better more flexible systems out there.
Thinking about buying the part and installing myself. Did anyone that installed their own have difficulty with the dealership just doing the programming? How much did you pay for the programming? Thanks, I have 15 Ultra.

Learn how to override with a PIN. Takes 15 seconds once you know the procedure. Also comes in handy when the battery in the fob dies and you are in middle of nowhere without spare battery (which you should carry a spare)
thekey is not used for the ignition, only for the steering lock and bags (if the bike is a dresser)
The fob arms/disarms the security system on a proximity principle.
So, all you have to do is put the "keys" in your pocket. Now, if even thŕt is too much of an effort the complainant should better get himself a stack of burgers and stay in front of the telly.
and if putting the key in your pocket is too much a pita then you could always use the security override to disarm the security so you can move the bike around.

^^I understand this^^
I'm weighing whether or not to buy & install the siren & paging module for my bike (factory security system is installed). My issue: there have been more than a few times I have manually moved my bike without the fob while in the garage & set the security system off - which has been nothing more than blinking lights. Had I had the siren installed, it would have been activated along with the siren inside the house - probably sitting on the couch yelling at me to shut the &*%# thing off!
I like the system as it is, but wish you could install the siren & manually select whether it was activated or not.
Any body remember the AMF security system from the early 70s. the mercury switch in the license plate bracket with an alarm that beeped until you reset it with a key?
That was the first thing off the bike when I got home.
The new systems are pretty slick on the touring bikes today.

Now you're showing your age! Mine worked for about a year until the weather got at it and silenced it forever.
I did it myself, it took about 45 min following directions. You do have to take it to the dealer to have them activate the FOB to the system. I have mine for my 2012 that won't work on my new 2015, (shocker). My fob is active for this system so it would save you the dealer visit. Make me an offer and its yours, just sitting in my tool box collecting dust
