Hi the Touring bike is new to Me 2012 FLHTK & love the stereo but want to make it better.
I found what looks to be a good deal on this setup.
HogTunes Big Ultra Speaker & Amp Kit for Harley Touring FLH
It would be about $471.00 normally like $589.00 shipped. I'm only looking for a setup using the original speaker locations & possibly the lower fairings in the future but probably not. I will be making the tourpack removable so I can run it like a streetglide.
I'm not opposed to spending more money maybe up to a $1000.00 but this looks like a good deal & would leave me more money for engine mods.
I'm just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this setup.
Thx Bob
don't waste your money on that -- you can get better sounding set up for a lot less -- for $1,000 you can get a killer system -- go to the audio section -- and bagger audio on facebook https://www.hdforums.com/forum/audio-systems-153/ -- BTW I had hogtumes -- sold it for half price in less than a week -- they have excellent customer service - but that doesn't result in good sound

I have the ULTRA set up and it is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If u speak with Scott I think his name is and GO TO THE factory in Barre Canada about 1 1/2 hrs north of Toronto they will install it for you. Ask for a specially reduced price and they may say ok to the installation and possibly the purchase.
They did a FANTASTIC job with mine. I watched the install.
I have the Hogtunes setup with the 4channel amp and fairing speakers. I had it installed last bike week and I am truly satisfied. It has good sound and it was well worth the $389 dollar special that they had during last Bike Week in Daytona. Installation was free and they had it complete finished in less than an hour.
another vote for RF amp and what ever speakers you like. Cheaper and better. For the $1000 youre willing to spend, you can put together a sweet system. My buddy is about to go to his third hogtunes amp. Hes not having any luck with them at all.
I see you only have 10 posts, so I will assume you aren't well versed in bagger audio. No disrespect intended, we were all there at one point. You don't mention which bike you have, and whether it has 2 or 4 speakers but you do mention a detachable tour pack, which makes rear speakers a pain in the a$$. Let's start with the easiest install. As mentioned already, the Rockford Fosgate PBR 300x2 (X2 means 2 channel amp, X4 is a four channel amp with channels equaling number of sppeakers) and a pair of Infinity Kappa 62.11s speakers is the best bang for the buck out there. Available on Amazon for about $260 delivered. It's an often used combo that most people like, but that's usually for fairing mounted only speakers. For a 4 channel set up, check out the Soundstream 520 or the Power Akoustic Razor 2000D. You will need a few additional items as well, like an amp wiring kit and fairing speaker adapters (to mount 6.5 inch speakers in a 5.25 inch opening). If budget is not a concern, I'd get a Biketronics system. BT rocks, and their products are guaranteed. Check out the audio section, lots of good info and some knowledgeable people over there who are happy to help. Good luck.
