Brought home a new 2015 Amber Whiskey Road Glide Special on Sunday!
I was never a fan of fairings and figured my next bike would be a Rushmore Road King, but when the 15 RG's came out, I knew that would be my future bike.
My wife has been wanting my '10 Road King for a while now since we ride long distances occasionally, and the Sportster is not really comfortable for that, so she sold her 1200 Sportster XL, and we used that as a down payment on the RGS. I initially had said she should get the new bike as I was still happy with the King, but she twisted my arm and said I should get the new bike because I ride more than she does. So here are the bikes together. It was a win for both of us - she got my bike that she's been wanting to take from me ever since she rode it once, and I got the future bike I wanted. Great ride, loving this thing!
What do you all do about the bugs on the fairing? I have a lot of em just from bringing her home. On the windshield, I would wash them off with hot water and a little dish soap, but not sure about the paint.
Spray the w/s and fairing with hydrogen peroxide, then watch the crusty bug guts slide right off.
Peroxide comes in a dark container for a reason....over time light dilutes its strength. Remember this if you transfer to a pump-spray type container.
Very nice ride caberto! I have a King and a Sporty and, I too, was going to trade my Sporty for that very same bike. Still on the fence on that though.
