Looking to replace the tires on my 2000 Ultra, i wanted to try a set of Michelin Commander II's but seems everyone is out of stock on the rear, has anyone heard anything good or bad about Perrelli Tires they seem to have a high rating where ever i look and not a bad looking tires im not a big Dunlop fan so just shopping around any thoughts??
i looked at the Michelin as they are often talked about in here with good reviews. when it came time to buy tires for my 2013 Ultra, I bought another pair of Dunlap stock tires as i had gotten 15000 good miles out of the ones that were on my 2010 Ultra and still had lots of tread when i traded it for my 2013. On my 2013 ultra limited I changed both front and back at the same time during a 20000 mile service..... it still had measurable tread but it was time...sometimes it would get a little squirrelly. you'll get tons of opinions. i guess its just like the oils, everyone has their reasons and favorites.
I ended up ordering a set of Metzeler ME888's I been watching the Comander II's for several months and the rear tire in my size just isn't available anywhere.
Thanks for all the input Guys!!!
Motor Easy!!!
Good luck with those triple 8's.Heard various opinions. 8 FLHT, Elite 3 on front, American Elite rear. Very stable, very responsive. 6k on front, still looks new.1k on rear, so too soon to tell. Overall, very happy with setup.
Happy with my 888's. I purchased them last year in a deep discount, and then I started hearing about so-called issues so I refrained from installing them. While I was in Laconia last year, I met with one of the heads of Metzler USA and he listened to my concerns. He gave my his card and told me that if I still had concerns after installing them on my Ultra, I could call him and he would give me a full refund plus the cost of installation. Got home to NYC and had them installed. I have to say I really like these tires. Much better road feel and handling that the 402's. I would still like to try the American Elite's and the Commander II's to compare, but for now I am happy.
