I just installed road6 custom 10 inch monkey bars on my 07 street glide. I need to reroute the clutch cable. What end do I disconnect to reroute? Is there anything else I should no or do?
Thanks,
Brian

Brian,
If you just installed the bars on your Street Glide you had to have had the lever end of the cable, the inner fairing, the outer fairing all apart,, right? Why would you want or need to take the trans. end off to simply reroute the cable? If you find the cable is short for your application & simply need a few more inches you may think about replacing the cable with a stock Crossbones cable from your dealer. I believe it will give you 3 or 4 additional inches & only costs about 40 bucks last time I bought one. You can keep the cable routing the way it came from the factory that way if you want to.
Hope that helps,
Dwayne
That makes sense. I juster wanted to make sure I was making the correct move. This is my first time installing bars and I wanted to be sure. I plan on rerouting the cable from the lever end tomorrow. If I feel that I need a longer cable I will purchase the one for the Crossbones or I can pick up on from Strokers.
Thanks for info.
I just installed 15" bars on my 07 and I was only a couple inches off... you should be close with the stock, there are a couple ways to reroute. Make sure you have enough slack at full turn
I had 10" Twin Peaks installed on my 07 SG and I had to order 2" longer Clutch and Throttle cables. best to get the cables it will make the install easier.

I just bought a Street Glide with taller bars. The previous owner did not take the extra effort or money and get a new, longer clutch cable. Because of their laziness, I am getting this taken care of before I pick up my new-to-me bike. Get the correct length cable. It will look better, and you have the satisfaction of knowing you did it properly.
Route the cable under your stereo system behind the fairing, instead of behind and over the top. This will give you enough extra cable to keep it run out the original hole in the fairing dash.
