7am to 10 am is gonna be busy...
if you leave costa mesa at 6...you may find that by the time you get up to LAX it's gonna be busy...but not too bad...from there it is about 10 miles to the 10 West. that and the pch should be fairly smooth- traffic will be building South and Eastbound
Early morning with no traffic has to be super early. I go to work at 5:30 to avoid traffic as I do not have to be there for many hours after that but I will do what I gotta do.
From Costa Mesa to Malibu is not going to be traffic free at any time of the day, especially on Friday when traffic is always the worst. Just go when you want. It's really not going to make a difference now that I think about it.
