Personally I think they are ugly BUT if you want to do it, I say go for it. If it were me I'd buy another inner fairing to have painted for 2 reasons,
1. Just incase you hate it you still have your stocker to re-install
2. You can still ride while waiting for the part to be painted. Or if there are issues with the painting you can take your time resolving the issues without your bike being un-rideable.
wife gave me one for a present.. with the BIG BLUE PEARL.. Even the dealer was impressed// no regrets what so ever
I have a 2012 street glide big blue pearl. Thinking of doing inner fairing but bbp has quite a big flake that pops in the sun as opposed to other colors. Any issues?
Not on my list of mods right now. Some of my buddies have it done, and meh, I can take it or leave it, especially on a black bike. Now on some of the colors, the painted inner looks real nice.
Mine is at the painters now being shot with Merlot Sunglo and it has just as much flake as the BBP. I don't foresee it causing anymore glare issues than any of the chrome that's already there or the glass in the gauges. Do it!!! You'll be glad you did.
