Default 2012 Ultra.... feedback good and bad

Anyone want to help me out? I'm about to pull the trigger on a trade. going from a '05' Ultra Classic to a '12' Ultra Limited. I'm looking for both positive and negative feed back from anyone in the know and owners of these bikes. Mostly the 2012 thanks ahead of time...........

I had a 2011 limited and really liked it. It had the stage 1 and had plenty of power. It rode well and was very reliable Only reason I still don't have it is because I traded it in a 15 limited.

Pros: You're going to get a 103 engine, updated frame, and bigger fuel tank. :-D

For a few dollars more (not the spaghetti western) you could get a 2014 Limited.

The Rushmore bikes are really head and shoulders above previous years. Don't ride one unless you have the money. And because of that, you should really make a great deal on a pre-14... my dealer has a ton of them he took as trades.

Pretty much what you said.
Nothing negative about them, other than night & day between 05- 2012.
Great bikes Limiteds are, any year.

dont listen to the folks who say get a 14 or a Rushmore. you didnt ask about info on those bikes and the answer they gave you is irrelevant . are they better? who knows but they are newer. i have a 13 ultra which is pretty much the same as a 12 and it is a wonderful bike. zero issues so far knock on wood. you will not be disappointed. Just check it out well to make sure everything is good and maybe purchase a extended warranty with it.

Of course they're better. Better suspension, more power, better electronics, better bags the list goes on and on. The question is are they ten grand better?

To me no. I would have to trade or sell both my 2011 Ultra, my 2006 Heritage and still have to kick in some cash.

I love my 2012 FLHTK. Pushing 50K miles and runs like a top. Only issue I've had is the Compensator was replaced under warranty. Mine came from the rental fleet at a dealer and had 12K when I got it.

I have an 03 FLHTCI clone, and a 13 FLHTK Very similar bikes to what you have and are looking at.

Bikes are night and day

I like my 13, but it is heavily modified, my biggest gripe is it is loud due to the PO's choice of upgrades.

Other than that is is a nice ride, and it is a proven design, unlike the 2014 Leakmore models.

I am also not buying into a cooling system with a one quart capacity that only cools the exhaust valve.

I do not like the instrumentation on the Leakmore bikes being part of the Infotainment system

If you can find a reasonably priced 12 that you like, I would buy it. Someone else has already taken the hit on depreciation, freight, doc fees, dealer markup, etc etc etc.

Don't get me wrong, I love my 03, it is a more refined bike for around town, but the 13 on the highway is
a sweet ride. Granted I am stage IV 103 vs stage II TC88 on the 03, so there is some apples and oranges going on here, but make sure you beat them down on price due to "old design" and 3 years old.
