Well i dont think Bakers price includes a new rotor for bikes requiring it so thats an additional $150 to the price of a new Baker comp when it actually becomes avail to put your hands on.

I bought a new SE comp kit for $335 online inc shipping that also included a new rotor so total including the rotor & shipping was only $335 for everything.

But a primary gasket and epoxy avail locally (JB-Weld $8 vs $45-50 for HD's epoxy) thats resistant to heat/oil/vibration is required thats approx $30-40 for both if you buy prim gasket online and proper epoxy locally so the total investment of $375 i have in a new Se comp kit is way under (by $175) $550 like stated in another post in this thread.

And along with the Se's stronger spring ,beefier /thicker metal design in general with the plastic parts you epoxy inside primary case to direct more oil to increase oil lube to the comp those things working collectively together should make the newer design Se comp last a lot longer then the weak stock comp does in stock or stage 1 apps to even hotter stage 3 or 4 setups too.

HD's latest design Se comp may not be as good as Bakers new design but i dont thinks its quite as bad as is being touted here either.

I have read where a few guys posting here in this forum stated they have 25-30k even 40k on the newer design Se comp with no issues & or no indication /sign/noise that the newer design Se comp is going bad anytime soon which i would think is a good sign.

So i hope the new Se comp lasts longer then the stock comp did on my 09 FLHTCU which was only 10k miles when it started doing the loud clunk/bang noise when firing it up and also began lurching when taking off/engaging clutch getting under way in 1st gear too.

But if the new design SE comp craps out early on my bike by then Baker's new design comp will have had the time to not only prove itself as being better then HD's newer design SE comp (Which knowing Baker will be the case) but should also be readily avail by then to get your hands on too in which case i'd jump on it.

Scott
