Default What kind of Apes and Cables

I am dying to get some apes on my ride. I think I want 14" apes from Hill Country Customs. I want to stay chrome and already have chrome controls. Stainless braided lines and I have a hydraulic clutch. Priced at Hill Country was $499.00 I have a great local shop that will install it all for $300.

Anyone have any suggestions or advice? Anyone use Hill Country before? Ill take all the help I can get.

Rob

I posted a thread recently stating 14" LA CHopper Twin Peaks are on" if you open the thread you'll get an idea how tall the 14" are and how well they look in chrome. Also chromed out the lines, housings, grips. MC covers. You'll get different viewpoints on bar height unless you've decided on the 14's. I couldn't be happier with mine done now.

I bought my Yaffe Monkey Bagger Bars from Hill Country Customs. They were pre-wired and I did the install myself. It's really not that hard to do. Save yourself the $300.

I did mine (non Harley) and if I had to do it all over again, I would have gotten the pre-wired bars. I did mine the old fashion way splice and solder gun. That was a bitch to do. If you can do it yourself, its actually fairly easy (if you do not splice) there are plenty of videos on you tube and tech threads here that could help you out. save the 300 buck install.

I just got done with my bars. KW 2+2 Sweepers. Took me about 4 hours. All I had to do was reroute the clutch cable. I spliced and soldered the wires. I also added a momentary switch for my garage door opener, which you can see in the pics. I will remove the fairing mirrors sometime down the road but they are good for now.
