Hi I have a few ideas about what cam to go with, but I'd like some feed back. I have an 05 EG standard(stock) , I bought a 95"BB kit with after market springs in heads(no other info) . I am 6'5 300lbs and my wife is about 160lbs. I ride solo a lot and two up a few times a month into the hills of Arizona. I was thinking 26g,37g or maybe S&s 510s gear drive. Is like to have some low to mid run and plenty of get up as I cruise around 80mph @3300rpm and like to get there fast.
My plan is
95bb kit
Cams
Thunderheads 2n1
Big sucker
80mm intake
Power commander
And a good tuning.
I had 510g cams in my 88" fatboy. You had to wind the **** out of it to get it to go. 3800+ rpms I went with wood 222 cams this time 2000 / 4500 rpm range for peak torque.
Any idea what the compression is supposed to be with your kit?
Of the cams you listed, the 26g would be a better choice. Those are gear drive cams, so crank run-out will need to be checked prior to purchase. .0035 run-out max is acceptable. Another cam to investigate is the Andrews 48.
ya really need to figure out what ya got. compression and headwork determine cam choice.
I like the 26 in stage 1 88s and mild 95s but depending what is in your "kit" there may be better choices??
