So...a few post ago I was talking about cams, cams and big bore, or just big bore. I spoke with a few mechanics and I guess everyone's got their opinion/preference. Most will tell you the heads are a big twin cam problem...need porting and polishing. Anyway...I'm considering just a cam again. I ride solo for the most part and just want that little extra. I understand that gear driven cams are better than chain plus it addresses fixing a known twin cam harley issue that apparantly old HD doesn't want to fix for its customers that already have bike. So... any recommendations on gear driven mild cams ?
I put the 510's with the S&S gear drive. I think I got a great increase in power. I love the new powerband and it gave me the more I wanted for riding 2 up and sticking with my buds in the hills on our Ultra. I also had a problem with trashing all of the new parts (2200 miles) for the 95" kit, without giving them a few more miles to work for me since they cost so much on my bike. Hope this helps, Gene
