Out of the crate, my '07 (3/07 build date) has the rubber strips on the insidelip between the windshield and fairing. My '06 didn't.So apparently someone at the moco knew there was a problem.

 

My dealer was aware of the recall and fix. I haven't seen any formal info from HD on it. I'll prob go with the clearview if the rubber strips fail.

 

My *** gets red when I think about paying near 20k for a bike and then have to turn around and buy a aftermarket windshield.

 

Putting strips on the dash is putting a band aid on the real problem. I removed my windhield and with a die grinder removed the part of the faring dash that was rubing on the windshield, repainted the windshield and reinstalled. No problem.

 

You'd think HD would do something like that

 

I got mine replaced awhile back, and its doin it again. I will live with it till just before the warranty goes and get another. They acted like it was the first they ever heard also. I had the fairind off the other day and saw two strips of rubber don't think they work. I will just cover up the black with the chrome strip soon.

 

My 07 RG came with the rubber strips also
