Harley is letting me down
I think I waited like 3 months to get the new paint-matched front fender after my crash, but I'm in Japan and I really didn't think anything of it. I didn't buy a Harley because of their customer service, nor would that ever be a deal breaker for me. Ride it without the fender, buy a raw fender and take it to a painter. It'll be cheaper (which will make your insurance company happy) and you'll never know the difference. There is a million ways to get around the wait...otherwise sell it and buy a bike whose customer service you'll be happy with...
Also call your insurance and get the actual timeline when they sent your dealer the official paperwork that the work was covered. I had a truck sit in a dealer lot for 6 weeks once waiting for paperwork to be sent. The dealer doesn't order anything from a verbal. There is always more than one person involved in an insurance claim.
Sorry to hear about your situation, but the tome in your message isn't going to gain any ground...might cause more of an opposite affect. Has your dealership provided dates and status on your fender's progress....you might be surprised to see they could be the ones at fault. Not trying to shed blame, but dates don't lie...JMO. Good luck & I hope your tins show soon.
OK, we get it, you're pee'd at HD, but remember you're overseas too which adds more to the logistics of the situation. Unless the m/c facility is in your region...things take time so keep your cool and try to work this issue through your dealership.
After my low speed off last year it took 18 weeks to get the parts from Harley, it appears they only stock service parts, anything other than this is special order. Unfortunately it meant I missed the best summer for 25 years.
