I got a Tequila sunrise and H-D Orange front fender from Harley in 10 days, it looks like your looking for an excuse to buy a Polaris, so just do it.

None the automakers keeps painted body parts in stock and especially for older vehicles that's where auto body shop thrives be patient or buy an unpainted part and take it to paint shop have it ready in few days. Of course Victory will be fast cause they are not producing full throttle and very few are ridden so there are very few crashes and so forth very little demand for the parts and the bikes.

If you've been around Harleys and this forum very long, you learn that some colors and color combos take longer than others to order because they paint by lots. Unlike metric bikes and even Indians, Harley has put in production dozens (if not hundreds) of colors and color combos over the years. I guess that is a risk with buying something other than a black Harley, but I wouldn't want them to change.

You could order the paint and have a local painter do it, but a local painter here once told me that it is hard to beat Harley quality for the price, especially with their metallic colors. You could also use a non matching fender from Ebay and sell it once you get your fender from Harley.

Was quoted five week wait for factory painted stretch bags at my dealer. 8 weeks is probably about right for your location. Sucks to wait....but I dont think its excessive. Just my opinion.

I saw the OP's post when there wasn't one response. I stopped myself from posting the obvious, like:

You ride and American motorcycle in New Zealand and you're crying about it taking a long time to get parts?

If you and EVERYBODY else in New Zealand decided to boycott Harley they'd never know it.

If you wanna but a Victory, buy one. But, using excuses like "I didn't get my part fast enough" to buy one is as transparent as going to a gay pick up bar because your girlfriend was sick and wouldn't put out.

But then I said "Nope, I'm not gonna do stuff like that anymore. I'm gonna be a better person in 2015". Then I check back and find all this and said what the hell

8 weeks is quick mine was 12 weeks, but if you had a dealer worth there salt, they would have put a take off fender on the bike so you could still ride while you were waiting like mine did.

What a privileged life you must lead to be so worked up over something so trivial.

This is pretty simple. If you want a painted fender factory supplied you might have to wait till the factory's production schedule includes that color. Sometimes if you're lucky they might have one in stock that's not already spoken for. Otherwise, if you don't want to wait, you can get one quickly that's primed and ready to paint locally. I doubt anyone can tell the difference.

You damn sure won't get much sympathy here on a Harley forum.
These people all drink the H-D Kool-Aid by the barrel. You can call their wife and dog ugly, but don't you dare talk bad about their Harley. Unless your bike has some really exotic paint job on it, why not consider having the dealer order the new parts and having a local paint shop shoot the paint. They do it all the time. Harley stamps their own gas tanks, fenders and things every day so you should get them in a few weeks. I remember seeing that big 300 ton press banging out those fenders at the factory a few years ago.
