Default mp3 question

Hello .Does anyone know if you can use a mp3 player other than Apple ipods with their Harley ipod interface(#76476-10) and saddlebag ipod holder(#76000143)? I currently have a Sony mp3 which works fine and has all my music library on it. Thanks.

I'm gonna say no because you would have no way to connect it to the interface. The HD interface has an Apple 30 pin connector as the in source.

No, you can't. That's why it's called an iPod interface, and not an MP3 player interface.

You know that is a great question.......I had a Fatboy that I put a fairing on awhile back and I bought a Sony head unit which had an Ipod plug and a USB plug. I figured out that I could plug a memory stick with music on it and it played as if it where an Ipod but the 2013 SG OEM system doesn't have a USB port just and Aux jack. Try plugging a memory stick into it with mp3 (not wave) music and see what you get.

if your prime mover is control of playback through the hand controls...I found the HD interface to be a pain.

you have to constantly take eyes off the road to see on the display if the unit is responding to inputs.

I like my eyes on the road.

so I try left, left, enter, up, enter, right right enter...

and find that the ipod is doing nothing like I hoped.

this was on cvo that I rode expressly to try out the ipod interface...in the end on my own bike I have a power supply and use the front panel aux in for my ipod...I saved hundreds
