tried to hook up my mp3 on my 05 ultra today. Plugged the cable into the aux port, turned on the aux switch and nothing. Checked mysystem (ACC on,volume, mp3 player onetc.) and still nothing. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks.
I got an older rca mp3 player maybe four years old.
Noticed that even whenI plug the power wire into the cig outlet
if batteries in the mp3 are dead it won't play.
Here's how I hook mine up.
take a audio patch cord and plug it into the head phone jack of the mp3.
the other end into the auxillary input jack on front of radio.
Turn ignition on select auxillary, turn on mp3 and turn up volume on the mp3 (this is a must Imax volume the mp3) then adjust listening volume on the radio.
If this don't work you got a bad mp3 (try headphones) or bad radio.
But I bet maxing volume on mp3 will fix it.

Are you sure you have a good cable?
Another thought is make sure you have the volume on the MP3 player turned up.
Mine works fine on my 05 Ultra in the aux plug. However it does have a lower volume level, have crank up the radio volume almost all the wayto get the sound.
