I ordered a pair of Mutazu fairings...they got here today and not bad. I expected for the price they wouldn't be perfect but they're pretty good. Thing is one of the sides showed up all scratched up so either have to exchange it or now I'm considering returning them for something better.
The HD OEM are about 650 after I add speaker pods. That's a bit far out for me, but these were only 224.00, so I'm hoping there's something in the middle?
I looked up fairing factory and they seem to have decent reviews, but then again so did the mutazu's. Who else is in the 300-400 range?
I got mine from eBay seller TMSHelmet last year and they were darned near perfect. No hardware or instructions but a quick trip to Lowes and the dealer and you can put that together. Price is way down now I see and the gloss black was a great match for vivid black. He has a youtube installation video also if you search a bit.
Frank - thanks. I saw some of the previous post on the TMS ones. My guess is at that price they are probably very similar if not the same to the mutazu ones. Both have similar reviews.
Looking at these they have good ebay review - but wonder if they are a notch up.
I think they're all Chineese products to be honest. The first listing you posted has the hardware and free shipping, but for the money, you can get the Harley hardware and just buy the TMS Helmet fairings.
I bought the lower clamps and the studs for the upper covers from Harley and the rest from Lowes. A thread I followed when I bought mine is here:
The price then was around $135 but now I see they're $89.95 plus shipping. Some guys complained about the finish, but mine were flawless and still look great after over a year. This guy has sold over 400 sets of the with 99% positive reviews on eBay, so I'm guessing the majority of folks are happy with their purchase. The glovebox doors were crap and I replaced them with locking doors also from eBay.
I also see Matazu has a listing with speaker pods:
i put a set of the TMSHelmet on my road glide after cutting the cap piece.sitting beside my ultra, you cant tell any difference.i paid 89+shipping.when i installed them, one of the plastic snaps wouldnt fasten.i sent them an email trying to get it replaced, they sent me a 25.00 refund.cheap got even cheaper.

Thanks.
There are several used sets of Harley take offs on eBay in your price range. That is where I got mine...Here is one ending in 8 hours with no bids...
Thanks man. Yeah I spoke with them last night over email. They offered to exchange the the scratched up pieces. Thing is after i inspected them further I found small blemishes like the edges had some ecxess plastic bits that could peel back some paint. Small things with the finish really. For the price the quality of the ABS was fine and I probably would've just kept them if they paint was messed up. But now I wonder can I find a better quality set... or are there only two options - cheap knockoffs or OEM?
Mutazu will exchange, but I'm shocked you paid that much. I bought mine with quick disconnects for $179 off ebay. no issues with appearance or condition.
