Default Tires

I am tire shopping.., so far I have decided to goi with the AVON Venom (120/70/21) becuase not a large selection for White Walls, I am looking at the Avon AM26 for the rear but not sure about the weight capacity. I need to use a 140-70-18 due to the 150 had a little bit rubbing on the belt when i push it backward but not when I have it in gear going forward. My bike is a 03 EG.

I went with the Dunlop American Elite...because I wanted to stick with the whitewalls.
They are pricey, I think it was a little over 600 for both including mounting-balance..

I think you will find that the Venom has been replaced by the Cobra. They sell the front you want as a WW, but I don't see a rear 18" with WW, nor a 140 wide in that rim diameter.

I do have a tip for your tyre rubbing. This is best done with your wheel out of the bike. Look down the side of the tyre, so that the top and bottom edges of the tyre are in line, as in my photo. Look to see how much of the pulley you can see, from the edge of the tyre to the belt track. In my photo that is around 3/16". If you can see very little pulley, use a thin spacer behind it. If you can see 1/8" to 3/16" then adjust alignment of your rear wheel so you have the same clearance where the belt and tyre come close. You shouldn't have any more rubbing problems and also should be able to continue using a 150 wide tyre.

Look at the manufacture date on the Venom sidewalls. I ran Venom's on my Road King for several years, but learned they stopped manufacturing them several years ago. What you get now is the inventory that had built up. I wouldn't be surprised if what is available now is at least three years old. They were great tires. I went to Cobra's in order to get a newer manufacture date.
