Default Fairing mirrors

I've got an 03 EG and would like to add fairing mirrors over my current bar mounted mirrors. Currently, no matter how I position my mirrors, my arm is still in view. Any issues with a change over like this? Is drilling of the fairing required to mount them?

the fairing needs to be drilled- make sure you get the correct drill template ( or ask seller to make a template for you).

there is a reason these are often available used...you get to see your forearms pretty good.

for you current problem, try mirrors with different stalks- are your controls at a good angle on the bars?

Mike,

So even the fairing mounted mirrors present a blind spot (arm/forearm)?

Controls are standard set-up but come to think of it maybe I can rotate them upward so that the mirror mount is tilted up and away so that my arms don't show up in the reflection.

Thanks for the idea. I'll try that. I do still like how the fairing mounted mirrors clean up the handlebars.

If you get a chance, stop in at a dealer and sit on some bikes.

I have a set of fairing mounted mirrors I took off my 15 Street Glide last week. Have 262 miles on them. I would take $25 shipped if you want them.

You need the templates in order to drill holes to mount them .... and in most/many cases your arms will be seen in the fairing mounted mirrors

That's what another member also said. Sounds like no matter what mirror that's used, arms/forearms are still visible.

Get some 14" or higher apes and those fairing mirrors work great.

Apparently hdforums members hate the fairing mirrors since so many take them off and put all kinds of tribal/scimitar/moon shaped mirrors sticking way up on the bars instead.
