I have a 3/4 helmet with the headphones and mic. built in, but I often don't wear a helmet so I also have a HD headset made for half helmets that works well with a half helmet or with no helmet at all. I can hear phone calls with it, but people on the other end can't hear me very well, especially at 60 mph. Best plan is when you receive the call, which you should see on your radio screen, just pull over and do the call. I think your radio even has a feature that tells the caller you are riding and will call back. That is the case with my friend's 2014 Limited.
I would like a microphone that is not a headset. I only wear a 1/2 helmet and do not want to mount anything on it, or have to wear another item while riding. I believe there are places on our fairings where a mic could be mounted and out of the wind enough to be useful.
Anyone know of anything like this or have any ideas on how to make it work?
When im out riding Im not taking calls for work. Your situation might be different tho. Just saying...my riding time is my free time.
Batman
yea my situation is different, I go "On Call" every few weeks. I still work a regular 40 hour week during on call but also have to be available after hours and on the weekend for the week I am on call. Therefor I still like to ride during those times, but have to be able to answer the phone.
Actually that is a very good read and is real close to what I am looking for. I am going to give it a try.
I just got a call from my dealer saying the part arrived but this North Texas weather has me at home until Thursday when the sleet and freezing rain are out of the area.
My cell phone hooks up to my GPS. When someone calls (no very likely)....I see the name or number displayed. I can hear them if I answer.....but I don't because I can not be heard. SO? If I NEED to talk to someone while riding my motorcyle (not likely)....I would pull over, and return the call.
How attached are we to these cell phones anyhow? How did we manage with ONE corded phone in a house?

I would like to be able to just forget the phone and ride, but have to be attached to my phone when on call or loose my job. That would mean way less ride time due to loss of funds and bike.
