Hi Guys/Gals ,question i have is i will be swapping out the stock compensator thats showing early signs of going bad on my 09 flhtcu with 10k miles on it and was wondering since the primary cover was should i at the same time install a new heavy replacement clutch spring while i am at it?
I ask that because i know sooner or later the stock clutch spring gets weak resulting in clutch slip and since i do the majority of riding 2up / w-the wife with bags often loaded putting more stress load on clutch at all times i thought it could avoid me having to pull the primary off again in a yr or 2 for a clutch spring swap.
Is that a good idea or not, what do you think?
And of course i will check cond of the rubbing block on the auto chain adjuster for the primary chain while i have prim cover off & will replace it if any noticeable wear is found at the time.
Yea stage one, no hole shots, a lot of country riding.
A HD tech told me to check the the clutch run the bike down the road at fifty and twist the throttle and see if you can break it loose if not then it is fine.
That was a hundred k ago.
