Default Wind from behind?

On my Limited Low I get a fair amount of wind from behind.... blows my hair & beard forward. I'm curious if it's the passenger seat/backrest/trunk etc. scooping up the air & sending it forward, or if it's a vacuum caused by the windshield/fairing. You guys that have ditched the lazy boy setup on the back of a bagger, did it change that aspect or is the reverse wind still there?

My parents told me I could be anything,
I became an *******.

My beard blows up. I hear it's from wind under the fairing and between the forks. I put the adjustable fairing mount wind deflector on. They help. On hot days I turn them to blow air straight at my chest. That helps to cool me off. There's a deflector (name escapes me) that mounts to the triple tree between the forks. Helps direct air at the motor too. I'm gonna give it a try this season.

low pressure (vacuum) is formed behind curved surfaces by air rushing over the surface. The air further back rushes in from all directions (including behind you) to fill that void.
Different shaped shield will change it effect.

Get a fork baffle. It's a little upside down ashtray looking doohickey that mounts under the bottom triple tree. Stops a fair amount of air coming up from under the front of the tank.

the ashtray may not do all that much- I put one on my Pal's bike cause I was sick of hearing him complain about his whiskers tickling...500 miles later I asked if he noticed any difference today...he said NO...he didn;t know the ashtray was there.

the bigger the hole you push thru the air, the deeper the pressure differential in the cockpit...uncontrolled air rushes to fill the vacuum.

I use adjustable deflectors on my fairing to direct air into the cockpit to equalize pressure.

you are also dealing with drag- that is why the backs of trucks are dirty.
hold your hand out flat in the wind and you'll feel the air coming onto the back of the hand.

Fork deflectors (fangs) and a flare windshield made a huge difference for me on my RK.
