Question New style bag latches on older bike?

Hey all,

I am curious if its possible to put the new latch style on my new bags going onto my 07 king. I know it is possible, it would just take some drilling etc. but does anyone know if the latches are just replaceable or how I could go about doing this? I got new stretched bags and the new style latches feel better to me. The older style kind of feels flimsy.

The "itch" for a Rushmore bike has started...

If you are talking about putting the toilet handle style: latch from the new rushmores on an older bike I do not believe it will work. it would be like trying to turn your house entry door into a garage door....

The Rushmore bags are shaped differently than the previous year models. I'm not seeing how that it would work unless allot of fabrication is involved. I wonder if the Rushmore bags would fit on an older model? Then one could buy a used set.

My friend just bought a 14 Switchback. Even though the bags are smaller than Ultra/Glide bags, I would have thought they would have the new style latches. I really dislike the old system after owning my Rushmore for a year.

It can be bad too! I walked into the Dealer last April looking to buy a 2010-2013 Ultra with low miles. After looking over a Rushmore for about 30 minutes, I developed a full blown Itch all over. It came on quick. It was BAD! The only relief was, when I made myself a Rushmore owner an hour later. I'm ok now!

In red further down in the description "It also fits our 4.5" Extended Saddlebags for 1993-2013 Harley Touring Bikes." I wonder if they have to be older style extended bags? I have no problem with my old style. If I could get the girlfriend to understand how they work, we'd be in business.
