Hi, if you seen my other post have a noise with new built engine, you guys with S&S adjustable non quickie, the instructions are week,so when pushrod is fully collapsed ,,then hold top into rocker arm socket while turning down the adjuster till no lash, then while holding top pushrod with wrench turn the adjuster down 4 more turns, then take the lock nut and tighten down to adjuster,is that correct, thanks
Yes, I have never used the s&s but procedure is same as se just different thread count.
This is the preloaded, what keeps the hydrolic lifter from ticking.
Make sure you are top dead center on the combustion stroke, so that you are off the can lobe.
Make sure to let the lifter bleed down that you can spin it with your fingers before you turn the motor over to do the other or you can bend a valve.
On the se's most guy to half an extra turn to full turn extra to get them quiet so same with the s&s.

Just read your other thread, did you soak your lifters or pump them up while soaking in oil before install ing them,
Takes forever or what it seems like. If you have oil pressure run it for a minute.
