Default New Amsoil Oils?

Maybe I missed this but when did Amsoil come out with new motorcycle products. I see they now have 20W40 Vtwin oil as well as a dedicated Primary Oil and a Transmission oil. I've been using their stuff for years and I just noticed this.....maybe old news for some but new to me.

Don't recall the primary label. The transmission label is new too, but wasn't that one the w110?

Not sure? I always used the 20w50 in the primary and Severe Gear in the tranny. Now they actually have a dedicated Primary oil (not sure what difference it will make?) as well as an actual VTwin Motorcycle Transmission oil. I'll try em out when I change up in the spring.

Interesting...

I was always an Amsoil guy. Got away from them in my engine because Mobil1 20w50 has A. shown better results in UOA's that I've seen, B. shows awesome results in Amsoi's own white paper, C. less expensive and D. readily available.

I switched from Amsoil products to dedicated primary fluids years ago because I tried it once, and really liked the results. Amsoil will have to work VERY hard to get me to change from Red Line Primary

I still use Amsoil SevereGear 75-110 in the transmission.

A few years ago, I was dealing with a national distributor for Amsoil, great guy, he kept me on file, and all I had to do was call, and he would get my stuff shipped. I don't know what he sold me as far as "distributorships" or "preferred customer" or whatever, never asked, didn't care. My bill usually worked out to under 8 bucks a quart for 20w50, with everything in.... and I typically got 3 cases, 2 20w50, and 1 with 8 quarts of SevereGear and 8 filters.

A year ago, he dropped his sponsorship of the "other" board I visit, and call home, so I stopped calling him. The "new" sponsoring Amsoil dealer... when I got ahold of him, told me to go to the website, buy whatever membership, place my order with his dealer number so he got credit... No thanks. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but for that, I liked making a call and knowing I was taken care of.

Now I overpay for my SevereGear at the local Harley dealer, but that's OK, I raised what I get for services in my garage to cover it.

Sorry for the run-on post....

Once they came up with the preferred customer program -- I didn't call a dealer -- you got the oil cheaper and I ordered for several of us which dropped the price a bit more.

I'm the same way. I pay the $10 for a 6 month trial, order enough for 2 or 3 years, and then rejoin after I run out. Cheaper oil, no middleman and gets shipped right to my door.

I guess I should have done that yesterday before I went shopping LOL... Actually pretty good prices with the preferred customer program.

I've been using Spectro primary oil and there transmission oil. The bike shifts better and is quiter. I'm sure Amsoil will do the same.

The 20w40 is Indian/victory oil, Amsoil says 10w40 is ok but some people are scared of a weight change. The primary and trans oils are same issue, they recomend 20w50 but developed the specific oils for people that want specific labeled oils. Indian/Victory oil is semi-synthetic. I won a new victory magnum from Cyril Huze blog and just ordered some 20-40 for it. Mike

And with what I wrote, I used Amsoil since the late 70's in all vehicles that didn't leak like a sieve. Never had a failure and always ran extended drains of around 12,000 miles (I felt it a waste of money to do an analysis just to run 25,000)--

However I have changed my choice of oils after some more research -- and let me say there is a lot of it out there from independent riders doing the analysis through independent labs.
