Have to bleed the brakes since the lines are getting replaced right?

Yes, you'll need longer cables and the switch wires will need to extended.

Not all that difficult just time consuming.

+6 means you need cables that are 6" longer than stock.

We just installed the LA Choppers Ape Hangers on my buddy's 2009 Road King yesterday. The bars are 14", 1.25" tubing. Had no issues what-so-ever getting the wires through. Much easier than mine & my dad's 2015 SGS with Vindikta 14" bars.

We did use the clutch/brake 12-14 extension kit from LA Choppers along with the wiring extension too.

I will say this, we do not care for the LA Choppers front brake extension kit for the non-ABS system. The stock front brake lines are a 1-piece unit and the LA Choppers is the split block where the lines are screwed in via flared brake line fitting. Not really terrible but we don't like the fact that the lines screw in and the flared fitting is what retains the rigidness for the lines to go down to the calipers. When the suspension moves the brake lines move a little too and would be putting the pressure on the flared fittings. Not saying it wouldn't work we just don't care for the design. We ended up tying the new brake line into the stock brake line this way it uses the stock split block and we feel it avoids the possibility of future leaks. Just a preference on that.

Good luck!!

Find a friend or make friends with someone who's done it before. Beer helps.

If you go with 10" apes, all you need to extend are the switch wires. You'll also have to reroute the other cables, but you don't need to replace them. I did it last year. It was a great project. Give it a try.

I went with 12 " Carlini's and I'm very happy with them. They actually measure out at 13.5 inches. I had to extend the wires and use longer brake line and clutch cable.

As always I await the expertise of you fine folks.
We get a steady trickle of threads from members who have installed apes and extended the wiring and the bike won't start! So take great care to do it well - and only once!

Very true brown.. I used an 11x17 sheet of paper and basically drew out each pin location and it's color.. I recommend soldering the connections the male female **** namz has on theirs didn't work for me at all unless u want the heat shrink to be the only thing holding them together..

It sounds to me like someone hasn't done all their homework. It's not a hard job to do by any means but it can overwhelm you if your not prepared.
And there is no such thing as an extender for your cables. All of them will have to be replaced.

2010 Limited with some stuff!!
