I picked up some earplugs that the local dealer was carrying. They are for musicians and reduces the higher decibel noise but still allows you to hear somewhat. But whatever you choose, wear them WITH your helmet or that Tinitus WILL get much worse. My ears are ringing right now as I type this.
I have been wearing half helmets for the last few years, prior to that I rode with no helmet or hearing protection for thirty years. Six months ago I bought an HJC modular full face helmet for the super slab. It is a very light weight and quiet helmet for a modular. Only down side is I can't hear the radio very well on the highway but I don't suffer for hours or even days of constant ringing in my ears.
If Tinitus is starting...... Be proactive and do everything you can to keep it from getting worse. It will get worse as you age all on its own. Good luck!
