I know the touring bikes have CB's or provisions for them, but as a licensed HAM operator (Tech- KI4IBS) just wondering if any fellow HAMS have done away with the CB and added their amatuer equipment (or kept the CB and added to).
I have found a website for motorcyling HAM operators (can remember the address off hand) so I know you are out there.
I usually carry my talkie but my headset gave out and I need to replace it. On previous bikes I have installed an antenna for 2m/440. I need to do that to this one someday.
I havent got one on my 06 rg yet , but have been looking at al teh different way sto do it . Did ya see where ayesu is coming out with a water proff dual band in summer . It has bluetooth on it also . Was in latest AES catologue. HAve a friend that has a d-700 kw on his Goldwing with j&m headset sounds real good. THat ham radio motorcycle group is like MARC i think . Call here is wt9j . Terry .
Cycling is dangerous enough without that distraction - just my 2 cents.

To each his own, but I have to agree with Ted. It's all I can do to ride and watch out for those around me. Can't imaging trying to operate a radio in traffic at the same time. Maybe if you're on the open road with plenty of boredom and space . . .
Havent even considered it but it might be interesting to do. I dont think you can reprogram the Stock radio in the Ultra for 10 meters though it would be interesting to try. I am sure HK programmed the presets for the CB (11m) so that would make retuning a real trick.
