It's been a long time since my last post. I went MIA for awhile.
So after taking the auto tensioner out of my bagger, I installed a Hayden. Then the new compensator, new inner primary bearing and race, new clutch pack and hub, and now I'm having the Baker DD7 installed.
Tired of the Harley crap but love the bike.
It all started with that ratcheting tensioner. It's going to become a great target to shoot at.
I'm an mechanical engineer and for the life of me, I cannot understand why Harley would ever do such a boneheaded thing as putting a ratcheting tensioner in a bike. It just blows my mind.
So now, 5K later, I'm hoping I fixed most of the problems.
So I had the Baker DD7 installed on my Ultra, and all I can say is "Awesome". Mark, please tell everyone there at Baker that they make the best Transmissions period. It is quiet, shifts well and I really like the pull it now has in the first 5 gears. My mechanics Jessie and Rick at Mid Valley Cycles in Hubbard, Oregon were totally impressed. Jessie said he was going to send a letter to Baker commenting on the quality of the whole package. Again, thanks for making a great American product.
