Yeah I just done a set of bars a few days ago and used the SE tbw and that is the only way to go IMO but I've never removed the o ring and never had any problems.

Based on pic the SE TBW would require better shrink wrap to meet my standards for running thru bars with sharp edges like Yaffe.

here's a little something to think about - my twist grip sensor was giving me codes - figured it was the green plug, so took it all out and put an ohmmeter on the pins. Turns out one of the potentiometers inside the TGS went bad in less than 4 years. The SE version solved that problem as well as the green plug. I didn't even notice an o-ring, just put it in the handlebar.
