New to this!!Recently bought my first 6 speed.I've had 15 or 20 Hds all were 5 speeds mostly evos 1340.Anyway my 07 ultra seems to be obnoxiously hot when riding it.My wife can hardly keep her feet on passenger boards.Bike has thundermax tuner with reinhart duals. Also the bike is quite difficult to get into neutral at a stop, typically go from 1rst to second passing neutral and at times can find neutral from 2nd gear.Recently dumped primary oil replaced with hd plus trans/primary oil, owners manual states 38 ozs.All other bikes have been 1 qt capacity.Manual says overfilling can cause difficulty in finding neutral
my 07 was stupid hot now just annoyingly hot, first was a good tune then exhaust then heat shields then oil cooler, as for the neutral thing adjust the clutch at the hub.

If it's tuned correctly with the Thundermax it shouldn't be all that hot. What climate are you in, are you in heavy traffic when this happens? Do you have an oil temp guage or anything other than "it's too hot"? Not that this isn't valid, mine ran hot when I got it, but a decent stage 1 and a decent tune it cooled off nicely. An oil cooler and it ran at 225'F for oil temp when cruising on a 80'F day.
The 2007 Ultra's are the "hottest" of all the model years. Free flow exhaust, the correct "tune", Synthetic oil, oil cooler, Wards cooling fans and remove the lowers. That will cool this model year down about 20%. Adjust your your clutch basket cold with clutch cable backed off. Adjust your clutch cable to proper free play. Many opinions on primary fluid levels and clunking into gear. I have had the best results of 32 oz's of dino oil such as Shell Rotella 15w40. I will not run synthetic oil in my primary. Synthetic gear lube in trans will help gear engagement smoothness also.
I have had a Captain Itch Crotch Cooler on last couple bikes. A forum sponsor. Last one they custom made for me as I had V&H Big Radius in black on my Road Glide and that sucker got hot, mostly while sitting at a light. May be what you need at a reasonable cost.

I found on my 07 it wasn't that hard to get the temps down.
Oil cooler
Good tune,
Crotch protectors
Remove lower fairing in summer
I do like the ward fans. Got em on my CVO.
Ad good tune is very important to cooling.
