Replacement speedometer

I have a 2014 road king and am considering buying a used cvo speedo and wanted to know if it would work on my bike. I know once it is married to the bike the odometer is locked but are there any other issues? Also is there away to reset it so I could marry it to my bike?

I think the dealer can send it off (with your original) and have it set with the correct mileage.

Is the used one 14 or newer? If not, I could be wrong, but there may be showstopper issues due to the 14 being a CAN bus bike.

I suspect more than just the odometer is locked to the bike, I suspect the whole operation of the speedo is locked to the VIN. I've done a couple speedo upgrades with new ones and that seems to be the case.
