www.cyclegadgets.com do a search for "bracket" this L-shaped bracket mounts behind the gps mount using the four bolts on the mount. Fits perfectly and points up. You can screw or velcro the antenna to the top of the bracket.
CycleGadgets antenna bracket for Garmin XM30 antenna. Fits R-A-M 2-hole or Garmin 4-hole cradles for Garmin 2730/2820 & 376C/378/478 GPS receivers. Positions antenna directly behind the GPS. The bracket is powdercoated mild steel, so the antenna's magnets will stick, but it also includes screws to fasten the antenna to the bracket for better security. Includes a Velcro strap to bundle antenna cable under the bracket.

I have the StreetPilot 2730 with the Magnetic antenna 'thingie' - I think it's the same thing (round, weighs about a half pound, ugly?). I have a windshield bag and I just stuff it in there - works fine. I first put it onto the gas tank, just behind the fuel filler cap. It stayed put, but I was worried about marring the finish of the tank so I stuffed it into the windshield bag while I thought about it - and it was still picking up a signal, so I left it there.
