Nice write up. It's a good thing that there are more and more options out there for our bikes. A buddy just installed Progressive 444s on his bike and is impressed with the improvement on his 14 CVO Ultra. I have Ohlins 2.5s from Howard and again, so much better than stock.
And yes, those are some pretty shocks. They are described as 2 stage etc - is that a separated or emulsified system?
I will add that my dealings with Howard have been professional and courteous. His thoroughness and follow up sets the standard. He does provide tracking.
The 13" PA shocks have 3.5" of travel so I don't see how those shocks could be anything but emulsion style to achieve that stroke in that length.
They are not much more than progressive shocks, but they ride so much better, also if going 2 up through twisties these shocks really keep the back of the bike firmly planted and very stable.
Very easy to adjust and lifetime warranty.
It is amazing what advanced suspension components can do. After a while the dramatic difference just becomes the norm. You forget how it used to work. Glad you like yours.
Just a word about Howard. He's a New Jersey guy. His demeanor may not appeal to everyone but he really is a sincere guy who knows whatever there is to know about suspension. He'll never try to upsell you something you don't need and he will support his product as well as anyone could expect. He really is a great resource and a decent guy.
